Dec 2016:

Winter Solstice

Planet Earth is tilting and winter solstice is here! Join us to bid farewell to the longest night of the year and welcome back the sun at an enchanting solstice celebration in Silicon Valley.

As candles are lit and extinguished, the revels will follow the rhythm of moving from light to darkness, and back to light.

The evening includes a no-host bar and reception, appetizers, secular ceremony filled with plenty of storytelling, singing, and dancing to close out the evening. Rich Thomas and his band Levi Jack will perform. We'll sing familiar favorites like "Here Comes the Sun" and "Wonderwall" and new solstice songs written just for the occasion.

From days of yore, people have celebrated the winter solstice, the longest night of the year and the lengthening days that open a time of rejuvenation, warmth and light. Breaking bread together, singing songs, sharing stories of the dying year and hopes for the future are age-old traditions. Mark your calendar and bring your family and friends for an evening around the allegorical campfire and welcome a tomorrow that is brighter than today.

Children will have a separate space with fun activities. Free childcare is provided for children out of diapers.

Add the winter solstice celebration to your holiday traditions!

The winter solstice celebration is presented by Sunday Assembly Silicon Valley.

Tickets for adults are $25. Kids 3-15 are just $5 and kids under 3 are $1 (this is just so we can get an accurate head count as we plan for child care). We're trying to keep it affordable for everybody. Tickets available at buytickets.at/sundayassemblysiliconvalley
